Key Responsibilities:

  • Design System Development: Spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive design system that encompasses guidelines for design principles, UI components, patterns, and usage. Ensure the design system is scalable, maintainable, and accessible.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers and front-end developers to ensure the design system is properly implemented and adopted across various projects. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate team members on the design system.
  • Maintenance and Evolution: Regularly review and update the design system to incorporate new components, improvements, and refinements. Monitor its usage and effectiveness across projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the design quality and consistency are maintained across all digital platforms. Conduct audits and provide feedback to design and development teams.
  • Research and Advocacy: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies. Advocate for best practices, accessibility, and inclusive design principles within the team.





Unique and Bold Challenges

The Design Operations Manager will be a pivotal part of the Design/UX department, focusing on optimizing project management processes, tools, and workflows to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our design team. This role involves close collaboration with designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders across the company to ensure design projects are delivered smoothly and on time.




Required Qualifications
  • Shared belief in the mission and values of Mercari Group and its various companies
  • Proven experience in designing and managing design systems for digital products.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS); coding skills are a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • A portfolio showcasing your experience with design systems.





Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong sense of user interface and semantic design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field.
