Job Description

We are developing the world’s first enterprise-level Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for robots, creating a rare opportunity for an experienced, product-focused engineering professional. Our PaaS aims to offer innovative features to handle every part of the product life cycle required to aid and deliver robust, scalable, and state-of-the-art robotics solutions to the end user. You will own key components of perception services for our robots.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and test robust 2D and 3D perception capabilities in semi-structured, dynamic environments in indoor and outdoor settings
  • Maintain continuous feedback loop with team members and team lead
  • Participate and learn from software design reviews and architecture reviews
  • Learn to develop and deploy state-of-the-art perception based solutions
  • Gain an in-depth understanding and knowledge repository for those perception solutions

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience with an outstanding track record
  • Experience in computer vision (2D and 3D), machine learning (SVM, Random Forest, CNN, etc.)
  • Exposure to libraries like OpenCV, PCL, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Fast.AI, CUDA
  • Good C++ and Python programming skills
  • Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work well as part of a fast-paced team
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop best practices and skills in robotics and perception

What makes you stand out
  • Comprehensive knowledge in one or more of the following topics such as Machine Learning, Image Processing, Point Cloud Processing, etc.
  • Exposure to cross-compilation, Docker, Git, TDD, and CI/CD practices
  • Experience in designing and implementing perception solutions that have been or will soon be deployed
  • Participant in robotic competitions, e.g. RoboCup, DARPA Grand Challenge, and/or contributions to open source projects
