You are passionate about creating holistic product experiences for users from all different walks of life. You are mobile first in your design approach, and are able to rally your peers around a concept. You can align both design and user experience to the strategy and business goals of the company, while clearly defining the what and why all the way up to the executive leadership team. Most importantly, you know that design is fundamentally about understanding people’s behaviors, interpreting between needs and wants, and creating a conduit between the product and the user in service of improving the person’s daily life.
Responsibilities
- Work across different functionalities to ensure SmartNews is compiling with the most strictest Data Privacy requirements
- Coordinate between outsourced agents and Machine Learning engineers, AI engineers and Data Scientists on data labeling requirements, and prioritize accordingly
- Provide and manage key data annotations on our time series data across different teams; closely monitor or leverage the automated anomaly detection tool
- Work with Data Platform team to build appropriate data pipeline for user feedback and tickets data from various data sources, and provide critical insights for product team
- Partner with Data Platform, Data Science, and Business Analyst teams to maintain SmartNews’s data, including but not limited to meta data, raw log data, aggregated data
- Enforce the data and data systems ownership and coordinate with various owners on any data and data systems issues whenever necessary
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- A technical / quantitative university degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of professional experience in relevant field
- Good analytical thinking and skills, and be able to tackle complex operational problems end to end
- Experience with excel, google sheet or equivalent
- Good understanding of databases, and previous experience or knowledge with data querying tool such as SQL
- Good written, verbal, and visual communications, and capable working with both technical and non technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced data visualization skills and experience with dashboarding tools such as Tableau or Chartio
- Programming experience (Python, R, Java, etc.)
- Reading/writing in Japanese
