Job Description

Degica is a fast-moving, lean digital content publishing, e-commerce, and payment solution company where every team member has a huge stake in the company’s success.

We are looking for a senior leadership role to be based in our Kichijouji office who will join an already talented and established team.

The Financial Controller ensures and maintains the efficient operation of the Accounts Department. He/she also oversees all financial and accounting matters pertaining to the company.

Responsibilities

  • Recommends and implements improvements in accounting procedures and internal control, including automations of Degica’s accounting practices.
  • Lead, oversees and continue to develop a Degica accounting team that:
  • Oversees the maintenance of all ledgers, journals and other accounting records of the company.
  • Oversees the preparation and timely submission of all financial and other management reports of the company.
  • Continuous monitoring of audit of all accounts, records and transactions of the company.
  • Creates and administers credit and collection policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the maintenance of subsidiary records in connections with all financial transactions.
  • Safe keeps all contracts, leases and other legal and financial records.
  • Scrutinizes the monthly financial report and investigates unusual variations of the expenses.
  • Prepares all budgets and forecasts covering all activities of the company with the Department Heads.
  • Supervises the preparation of monthly journal entries, financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Monitors and reports on the cash flow and requirement.
  • Reviews and approves requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Operating as a strategic member of the Executive team to provide weekly and monthly visual Key Performance Indices relating to Degica’s businesses.
  • Willing and able to learn from the bottom up to go through the current workflow in order to fully understand Degica’s unique business models and to find ways to recommend and implement improvement.
  • Participate in the development and execution of Degica’s business plans.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and insightful reporting on all financial matters.

Requirements


  • An experienced leader and financial executive with technology industry experience.

  • Game or software industry experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Masters degree (MBA) or CPA equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • 5-7 years related experience in finance or accounting related fields.
