As the territory lead of Bethesda’s world class development studios, the Marketing Manager Japan will work closely and cross functionally with teams across the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. Passionate about games, their primary goal is to build strong brands and drive high levels of consumer engagement and demand to achieve local commercial goals. The right candidate will be a strategic and innovative thinker with strong commercial acumen, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • The Marketing Manager Japan will be responsible for brand development and engagement with a key focus on acquisition and retention in delivering on our sales and profitability expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with local, regional and global marketing teams across brand, product, localisation, go to market, legal and media to develop, localise and execute regional plans with measurable results.
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial acumen with recommendations across product monetisation, P/L financials, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of the business and its brands and identify new business opportunities and future potential revenue streams.
  • Work with external partners and 1st amp; 3rd party brands to develop and execute on local and regional partnership/sponsorship plans with measurable ROI.
  • Brief and manage media, content and creative agencies to drive engagement and performance marketing campaigns. Use data and insight to help drive decision making and develop and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual business reporting as required.
  • Work cross functionally with the Communications team (PR/Community) to support physical or digital events, consumer engagement activities, and overall Communications strategy.
  • Evaluate and analyse the marketing/campaign performance and provide valuable learnings and recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Provide ongoing thought leadership in the portfolio development strategy for the region.

Requirements

Required skills / experience

  • Required Language Skills: Japanese: Fluent, English: Business level.
  • Over 4 years of experience managing cross functional marketing campaigns across all forms of traditional and digital media (regular employee/contractor).
  • Commercial and financial acumen across P/L, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
  • Creative thinker with innovative ideas and the ability to navigate complexity to create simplicity.
  • Experience in the video game industry or entertainment industry with a passion for games and entertainment.
  • Have a deep understanding of the video game industry and competitor set.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills to various internal and external stakeholders and partners.
