We are looking for a Director of Sales with experience building meaningful client relationships to grow and support our innovation community. This person will contribute to the success of our CIC Tokyo Sales and Relationship Management Team.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORKYou will serve as the most senior member of the CIC Sales amp; Relationship Management Team and work with prospective clients to determine if CIC is the right place for them to start their business. You will be directly responsible for the team’s performance, sales and you will provide strategic guidance for the sales team and efforts.You will also support the General Managers when needed, navigating external partnerships and representing CIC regularly in the larger Tokyo innovation community. You will additionally help drive the creation and implementation of new programs and initiatives around marketing efforts, new sales, client support, and overall business development and expansion. You will report to the GM of Sales amp; Marketing.
In addition to the above you will:• Manage the Sales and Relationship Management team, including general team management, sales, client management and training.• Responsible for sales system management and revenue/goal tracking for the site; also identify less-than-ideal processes and improve them accordingly.• With the GM of Sales amp; Marketing, drive the creation and implementation of new programs and initiatives around new sales, marketing, client support, and overall business development, both independently and in support of GM.• Act as a contact to high profile clients and partners to work with them on their needs.• Lead broker outreach and maintain fruitful broker relationships to drive large leads.• As Represent CIC at onsite and offsite events, tours and speaking opportunities, oftentimes in place of GM.• Grow, coach, lead the Sales and Relationship Management team.• Work closely with the Community Leader to ensure Sales and Relationship Management and Operations teams are as strong as possible by incorporating input from external departments.• Collaborate with other teams to connect clients, assist in voicing the CIC mission to external partners, and strengthen the sales pipeline.• Act as a reliable and resourceful partner to the GM on client issues that escalate.• Collaborate with the Venture Café Tokyo team to ensure cohesion and community engagement (both CIC Tokyo community and Venture Café Tokyo community).• Represent the CIC Tokyo campus to the global organization and be responsible for deep understanding of CIC’s global practices and CIC’s DNA. Ability to implement it locally and share local learnings back to global teams.
