Euromonitor Consulting was established over 30 years ago and has achieved consistently robust growth over the years, with a team of more than 400 consultants and 1200 in-country analysts globally across different industry verticals and practice specialisations. The Business Development team provides expertise in helping clients address important objectives via our bespoke solutions. We help different functions and support clients across the four main stages of the business lifecycle from identifying new ideas (What’s next), refining and testing them (Where to play), executing and growing them (How to win), to measuring and tracking their success over time (How am I doing).

Our clients are distributed across a broad spectrum of consumer goods, services, and industrial products. We also cover a diverse array of government agencies and international development organizations, and leading advertising agencies, management consultancies and banks globally. The Business Development team works closely with clients in these spaces to design the solutions they need, as an integral step towards successful engagements and long-lasting customer relationships.

The Business Development team is an increasingly important growth driver for Euromonitor and complements the expanding sales team in developing and crystalizing our clients’ requests in actionable solutions for their business. The Consulting Business Development role is focused in continuing to grow our consulting business within the Japanese market.

About the role

The Consulting Business Development role is a key one to build on the success of our consulting service to clients, which has consistently achieved above average growth, delivering high-standard/fact-based consulting services. This is a role designed to help us deliver against our growing pipeline of projects and clients and go deeper within our multi-faceted consulting solutions. The role is at the intersection of research consultant and business development and is equally suitable to a team player that comes from a consulting / market research background and is able to demonstrate strong commercial skills, as it is to a candidate with a solid commercial background able demonstrate strong consulting and analysis skills. The strongest candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in both facets of the role.

This is a role that allows some of our brightest to:

  • Consistently work with and grow our key global and regional accounts
  • Develop new and existing clients to understand our consulting capabilities and expand our influence over their strategic business areas
  • Clearly understand our clients’ challenges, know their business and become a strategic partner for them
  • Work end-to-end in consulting projects, from ideation and solution design to project execution and delivery
  • Work closely with industry and practice specialists in fields such as Analytics, Consumer Insights, Innovation and Sustainability

  • Collaborate proactively with sales partners to develop and grow relationships with our most important accounts globally and regionally.
  • Design best-in-class consulting solutions to match client/prospect strategic needs = obtaining a detailed understanding of client/prospect strategic goals, designing and effectively positioning consulting solutions within both existing clients and new prospects.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with consultants, practice and industry specialists in designing solutions that reflect Euromonitor's capabilities; briefing of project teams on won solutions providing details of methodological approach; support the project team throughout the research process in managing client expectations, particularly in dealing with changes to the agreed specification of the project; provide input in brainstorming around challenging methodological areas of the consulting solution, particularly when unexpected complexities arise; reviewing project outputs at key stages of the project and providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate across Euromonitor functional teams partnering with Sales, Account development and Consulting teams on developing Consulting opportunities.
  • Enable sales partners’ commercial success with guidance to position Euromonitor's consulting capabilities, identify and qualify opportunities.
