Digital Producers get to work with a range of different disciplines within the marketing and tech teams to contribute to, manage and make live engaging website content. This Specialist role involves getting into the nitty gritty of sales, product launches, conversion rate optimisation and helping to drive an industry best website experience for our customers in Japan.

The role of a digital production specialist can be broken down into the following main categories:

  • Customer focused website experience optimisation (35%)
  • Conversion rate optimisation (35%).
  • Content management (sales and product launches and general content updates) (25%)
  • Leading Japan as the main Tech touch point (5%)

Requirements

What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?

  • Customer focused website experience optimisation (is a mouthful) involves spending time on our websites. You are a champion of customer experience! Constantly reviewing and identifying bugs, gaps, performance issues and opportunities. Monitoring our products, content and discount codes. Making sure our website presents a slick, clean user experience. It also includes looking at competitor websites and seeing how we compare and what features / experiences they offer that we could leverage.
  • Conversion rate optimisation covers a few key areas. Firstly working with other Koala teams (Marketing, data, UX, customer service etc.) to review customer journeys of different customer segments and brainstorm ideas that could help improve website experience and conversion. Secondly it is forming CRO hypothesis that can be converted into AB tests and added to the testing backlog. Finally it covers the physical execution, data analysis and reporting on the outcomes of the AB tests.
  • Contribute to content management which includes both strategic and BAU digital initiatives such as product launches, product changes, sale campaigns, content creation and deployment, monitoring delivery and troubleshooting. You will need to work closely with the marketing and product teams from the start of the process contributing your ideas and working as a cross functional team.
  • Tech touch point. Because you will engage many parts of the business and are one of the only tech team members based in Japan, you will be the primary touch point for tech in Japan. This will involve supporting our Australian based product managers on occasion to clarify market needs, team requirements and leading the fortnightly Japan / tech action meeting.
  • Your regional focus will be the Japanese website and market however as we are a global team there are times when producers help out other regions when people are on leave or it’s a peak sales/product period.
  • Adhering to appropriate Agile methodologies, provide project and ongoing business-as-usual (BAU) support and acting as the digital product owner for BAU activities.
  • Work with development teams to continually optimise digital platforms for producers.

Ideal background

  • Experience in understanding CRO activity; A/B testing, Personalisation (Knowledge of Contentsquare, VWO amp; Ninetailed platforms is desirable)
  • Good understanding of e-commerce metrics and the customer journey
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital design fundamentals including user experience design and user-centred design.
  • CMS experience in a marketing/ecommerce-led organisation (ideally Contentful, but any other CMS experience is also absolutely fine).
  • Knowledge of project management tools is preferred (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Google Suite etc.)
  • A good knowledge of HTML and CSS is preferred, but a basic understanding is also okay.
  • Knowledge of Shopify amp; Commercetools platforms is also desirable
  • Proactive and a desire to improve on the status quo
