"What can I do to help society thrive with the finite resources we have?" The Mercari marketplace app was born in 2013 out of this thought by our founder Shintaro Yamada as he traveled the world. • Build@Mercari is a training program targeting software engineers that is provided by Mercari Group. The program provides opportunities for skill training and an internship intended for people who for any number of reasons have not received certain opportunities in life. The program is intended to encourage people who identify as minorities that are especially underrepresented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and IT fields, such as women and members of the LGBT+ community.

• People active in today’s IT industry have diverse skill sets and backgrounds. However, some people of minority standing or background may not have received a full education or the chance to work as software engineers. The Build@Mercari training program provides a helping hand to these individuals and helps them in their careers as software engineers.
• We welcome applications from people who share Mercari Group’s mission and values and who are serious about their desire to achieve personal growth through their internship.

• Build@Mercari will take place online.

• Applicants will first take a coding test. Those who pass the test and the document screening will be invited to join the Build T
